Rising
Choreographed by Eli Kababa and Kimberly Pinto
Music: Caedmon's Call/Medieval Punditz
A dance inspired by the struggles of a social class in India known as the Dalits. The level of oppression that is laid upon these people is at times unspeakable. Yet, still they find the power to rise and say, "We will not take this anymore." Even in our own social, political, and personal daily oppression we must rise and continue rising no matter how things appear before us.

Reverie
Choreographed by Alison Oakes Charbonnier
Music: Kronos Quartet by Phillip Glass
Divided into four sections, Reverie is a nostalgic look at a group of women getting ready. The opening solo is a time of quiet reflection; the group sections explore conformity and individuality with a bit of revelry, while a quartet
abstractly recreates a social dance. Inspired by a
character in Wallace Stegner's Angel of Repose, the piece
takes us to a different time period, yet remains timeless in its intention.
